Brewing Something New

Hello! Welcome to my digital home.

Please relax and make yourself comfortable as I present my new blog. Truth be told, I started this blog as a way to communicate my thoughts and ideas about the world around me. Sometimes, in this loud and busy world, I feel that quiet voices are often overlooked, mainly because, well … they are not loud. But I don’t think they need to be loud; everyone has a voice and something special to share.

The Educator

I am a teacher by profession, who enjoys working in secondary schools. I started my career as a casual relief teacher (CRT) back in 2016 with ANZUK, I did a lot of work with primary schools at that time. I loved working on a Friday as a CRT, it was such a cruisy and relaxed day, especially if you were teaching younger levels like prep and grade 1. You got to talk to the students, watch them eat lunch, do fun learning and finish the day with something fun again. However, the more I worked with primary students, the more I realised I felt a stronger connection to teaching older students, which is why I prefer teaching in secondary schools. By the way, have you ever done CRT work before? If so, did you enjoy the experience?

The Film Buff

I love a good movie – you get everything you need in about 2 hours – entertainment, an interesting story, excitement, catharsis or whatever you are into. My favourite films include the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I watch it again ever year), The Host, Amélie, Bend It Like Beckham and many more.

The Moderate Foodie

I love food, but I would describe it as a medium level of love. I don’t feel the need to have new and exciting food all the time; I can be at home and enjoy a simple meal. However, when I do go out, I love try new food or eat something I was craving like Korean fried chicken, ramen or Italian. You would also be surprised to know that my favourite beverage was coffee long before tea. I started drinking coffee in year 12 (just a mug here and there) as I way to help to stay awake when I needed to study. Slowly over the years, I understood that tea was more beneficial for my body and its specific need, so I made the switch and I never regretted it.

The Plan

Every week, I will share insights on living in Melbourne, experience working as a teacher and reflections on life.

My digital home is space centred on growth, connection and embracing the simple joys of life.

Stay tuned for more – See you next time ✨
